Pets
The warning signs are the same as in livestock: a wound that worsens, discharge, visible larvae, and discomfort. If you see any of these, contact your veterinarian promptly.
Humans
Infestation usually starts in an existing wound or around body openings. Anyone with a non-healing wound who has been in an affected area should see a clinician.
